I have been asked to travel to Jordan this August to work with disadvantaged and displaced young people, who have either been orphaned or caught up in the nearby conflict. I have to be honest and say that I had to think long and hard about travelling and working in this area given how conflicted the region is, I decided that I had to go, I feel it is something I am called to do.
We will be holding an Arabian Nights themed fundraiser on Wednesday 10th June here in the salon, last years fundraising events were a fantastic success and you helped me to raise an amazing amount, it is your support that makes these events successful. With your support we hope to raise some more vital funds for this fantastic cause – we intend the evening to be packed full of fun, with entertainment and you will also have the chance to sample some authentic Jordanian cusine.
As you all know last years India trip was very successful and most of the students on the programme are now in work placements with potential employers, I am still in contact with some of my students and taking an interest in their career development – WE REALLY DID CHANGE THEIR LIVES.
We will be selling ballots and placing collection buckets in the salon to help raise these essential funds, every penny counts and helps disadvantaged young people to gain a better future. All of the money raised will go directly to the SOS Village to facilitate the training of these young people.
I hop very much that you will support me and my team by attending the Arabian Nights event on Wednesday 10th June – Thank you!
